GENERAL INFORMATION SUCCESS STORIES
The young men and woman who have developed the MylifE Project have become our greatest outcomes. Each one of them now lives an independent life away from the streets of South Africa. They have been mentored to ‘pay-it-forward’ in all walks of their life and are care givers for our future generations.
Some of the Success Stories of The MylifE Project, fall into these leading achievements:
- Working with Innermedia, we produced “Whatever you say I am” – a full-length documentary on ‘Street Life’
- MylifE Youth participated in a four-month apprenticeship on the film ‘In My Country’ with Samuel L Jackson, which created a pathway for others to enter the film industry.
- MylifE Youth have worked on most commercials and movies shot in Cape Town since 2004.
- MylifE Youth participated in the Angel Ride for HIV/AIDS with Ruby Wax, Rutger Hauer and Pieter Dirk Uys.
- MylifE Youth helped to create the SABC documentary, “Till death do us part,” and two of our youth (Damian & Freda) starred in their own episode.
- MylifE Youth participated in the Dance4Life and HIV/AIDS Dance-A-Thon.
- MylifE Youth appeared in and worked on a music video for SA band Freshly Ground.
- MylifE Youth wrote the music and performed a commercial for Pep stores.
- MylifE Youth innovated and worked on the 2006 VUKA commercial highlighting the ‘sexual exploitation of children’.
- MylifE Youth travelled to Sweden where they presented the King of Sweden with and painting and were given the honour of the city for their bravery and inspiration as young South African Youth Leaders.
- MylifE Youth “pay it forward” to their communities – through mentorship and resources.
- MylifE was chosen to Chair a Summit in Johannesburg on Poverty Alleviation and Rural Development – the Role of our youth
