GENERAL INFORMATION TRUSTEES AND DIRECTORS

Governance

The MylifE Project was set up as a section 21 company in 2002. It is the Project that runs the day to day activities of MylifE.

The MylifE Project's Board of Directors are as follows:

  • Chris Roland, Chairman of the Board (CEO, ZenHQ Films);
  • Linzi Thomas, Founder of MylifE;
  • MK Kapa, Co‐Founder, Chef;
  • Sifiso Jezile, Co-Founder, Project Co-ordinator (staff);
  • Graham Abbott, Photographer

In 2006 it was decided to establish the MylifE Foundation Trust, which acts as MylifE’s financial arm and provides added corporate governance. The specialised function of the Foundation is to raise and manage funds on behalf of the MylifE company. The Foundation is strictly focused on fundraising and raising awareness both locally and internationally about the MylifE projects and the outcomes achieved as a result of these projects. The Trust was set up by BOE and is under the management of Dieter Schwendinger from Old Mutual. All funding flows through the Trust.

The MylifE Foundation Trustees are as follows:

  • Linzi Thomas     (Founder of the MylifE Project);
  • Peter Du Toit     (CEO Soccer Laduma, and FIFA 2010 Ambassador);
  • Lance Greyling  (MP, Chief Whip);
  • Mandy Scanlen   (Enterpreneur);
  • Ard Matthews    (Front Man for Just Jinger).

Although not a board member Dieter Schwendinger (Old Mutual), manages the Foundation’s accounts and financial affairs.

There are therefore two tiers of Financial Management and Corporate Governance. The first happens within the Foundation, where budget requests from the MylifE Project are reviewed by a qualified assessment committee, and later reconciled against the outcomes achieved. The second tier happens within the company where accounts are overseen and audited by Fenns Incorporated (CA). The two‐tier relationship ensures the strictest accountability and governance.
